This year I traded Christmas for a self-made holiday. No shopping, no gifts, no decorations, no ham or turkey, no ho-ho-ho, no stress, no exhaustion. Why spend precious time killing myself in December for a mythology I do not believe in. It felt both dishonest and hypocritical. It felt like I was living someones else’s life.

By shaking off the past I was free to create whatever I wanted. No rules, no restrictions. Just life as a big beautiful blank canvas. I decided to travel back in time, before religions, and make the winter solstice my guiding light.
